In 1975 there was a small music shop in the village of Keston. The proud owner of the shop was Professor Rory Butrockett. He loved music and sold every musical instrument imaginable, there were even some he’d created himself. But he wasn’t just a shop keeper. The professor also loved science and would work into the late hours of the night on many different experiments. One night he created an amazing potion which when poured onto any object it would bubble for a bit but then out of the bubble would pop a little creature with the same abilities as the object it was poured on. By the end of the night the professor had created a creature that could take pictures of you, another that could use its nose to draw and even one that cut the grass by chewing really quickly.
It was then that he suddenly thought wouldn’t it be great to see what happens when the potion is poured onto one of his keyboards or trumpets or even an electric guitar. It was this day that Boppers was born. The first batch was a bit of a disaster they were far too loud and aggressive. They played music alright but to the professors ears it was just a load of racket, plus they kept drinking all his alcohol from the chemical bottles. He decided the best thing was to disperse all of them into outer space with a small rocket he’d built.
He made sure the next batch was from a lot calmer and soothing set of instruments. All was fine and over the coming weeks he’d created a whole world of creatures all with their own special sounds. But unbeknown to the professor the people in the village had become aware of strange goings on in the small music shop. Talk of witchcraft and aliens were spread and it wasn’t long before the professor was forced to leave. He decided that wherever he went people would become suspicious and so decided to build a huge spaceship which he launched off into deep space along with all his boppers and musical instruments. He came across a small planet with beautiful islands. It was here that he decided to let loose the BOPPERS on the planet and named it Planet Bop.
The professor is still creating Boppers high above the atmosphere of Planet Bop in the mothership. New creatures appear all the time, each one with its own unique sound and look.
No one knows what ever happened to the bad batch…maybe they’re still traveling through space?
